Phase II: Innovation Screening

Companies interested in taking part can file the application form by November 30, 2018. A decision-making committee consisting of representatives of Volkswagen Group Logistics and the IPM will receive anonymized applications and will select 20 finalists from the submitted profiles.

Volkswagen managers informed interested companies about the current logistics challenges and the search fields on September 20, 2018 in the Maritim Hotel Airport in Hannover, Germany. You can find the videos of the presentations here and the FAQs that have been answered here.


Phase III: Innovation Selection

The selected companies will be invited to take part in a plant tour at one of the European Volkswagen Group plants. Two company representatives will be introduced to the logistics needs of the VW plant by its management.

In an advanced scouting phase, selected companies will have the chance to present their (adapted) logistics innovation to a committee. Logistics managers of the Volkswagen Group and IPM experts form this decision-making committee will discuss the applicability of the logistics innovation and evaluate the solution.

By April 2019, ten companies with the most innovative concepts will be nominated (nominated suppliers) to exhibit at the INNOVATIVE LOGISTICS SOLUTION DAY 2019. Winners can look forward to potential pilot projects at Volkswagen Group plants.

Phase IV: Innovation Presentation

The nominated suppliers will be invited to present their logistics solutions to approx. 300 logistics managers of the Volkswagen Group at the Innovative Logistics Solutions Day 2019 on May, 14 2019 in the ConngressPark in Wolfsburg, Germany. This is free of charge, of course.
